This is a weird promo record, probably got it from a discount bin in college. It’s on limited color vinyl, aka black (???). Side A is “El Dorado”, a proto-punk song - fast, frantic - somewhat generic, not bad but not horrible. Reminds me a lot of Angry Samoans. Lacking the surf tones of their other songs, maybe that’s why it didn’t end up on their first record.
The interview is more interesting than the song, to be honest - they’re talking about how they’re not actually from the beach, and it takes 2 hours on the bus to get there on OC Transit, even though they’re a surf punk band. They have some self-reflection on the quality of their first album, saying how they could have done it better, spent more time on it rather than going through in 2 days to do the entire thing.
I think one of the Rhino CD reissues of Living In Darkness has these tracks on it as bonus material. Funny that I didn’t really get into this band more; I loved surf music and hardcore at the same time as a youth.
