This one ratchets up the aggressiveness, veering more out of the “core” and further into the “metal”, with some more black metal influence than the 12” EP - tremolo-picked guitars and blastbeats throughout, but there’s always a low-end to keep it from getting to out of control. There’s a few math-y guitar weirdness in this one too, like on Sacred Nothing and Faith Eater, which isn’t my favorite technique. The album is somewhat relentless, and the listener doesn’t get much of a break, which is probably the point. The slower parts don’t last long. Overall the songs are a bit complex and dissonant for my liking (especially Faith Eater, it could be two different songs) although there’s clearly an insane amount of talent behind them. The artwork is great on this one too.
