Articles of FaithComplete Vol. 2 - 1983 - 1985

Not sure why I don’t have Vol 1, but I don’t! Volume 2 includes the Wait EP, a track from the P.E.A.C.E compilation, and In This Life LP. The last song is an acoustic version of What We Want Is Free. The liner notes include great backstory by Vic Bondi, with a bit dumping on the Effigies and “working class” skinheads from Evanston with doctors and professors as parents.

I think I prefer their earlier work because it’s a touch faster, rawer and louder, more like my favorite track on this record - I guess I gotta get Vol 1. - but even AOF later stuff is better than most bands. They never went metal or glam, which is more than what can be said for 99% of Boston hardcore bands of the same era. Vic’s vocals are the perfect for this age of punk / hardcore; you can (usually) understand the words, but there’s a raspiness edge to it that I really dig.
