How could my copy be in any worse shape than this? No insert, the sleeve is ripped and the spine is split; front cover is written on (shoutout to WMSE Milwaukee), and the vinyl is in rough shape and sounds terrible. I’m guessing the crossed out songs are the ones that were forbidden from radio play?
I am no Bad Religion connoisseur or super fan - I know this record, the excellent Suffer, and a few songs off Against the Grain and that’s about it from their discography. This record is good, though, it fits well amongst its early 80’s hardcore peers - if not a bit better - it’s fast but has some poppy /melodic-but-meloncholy aspects here and there that would distinguish Bad Religion later. It’s a great debut LP for a band that was destined to get better. While a few tracks are rather forgettable to me, the ones that aren’t really aren’t - the standouts to me are We’re Only Gonna Die, Fuck Armageddon This Is Hell, Pity, In The Night, White Trash (2nd Government), Voice of God is Government.
