Only time will tell when it’s time to grab reality by the balls. I’ve had this record forever, but you know what? This is the first time I’ve thrown it on in at least 10 years. My loss - I like this album a lot - thick, somewhat chaotic hardcore that also kind of sludges at times - yet it never really settles down. Musically is very clearly influenced by Black Flag, and maybe even a bit of Sabbath, or at least Sabbath via Flag - maybe some COC or Voivod in there as well. The intro to “Only Time Will Tell” is pretty epic. I will say that to me, songs blend together a bit because a lot of them have a bit of a left turn somewhere in there - not a bad thing, necessarily, but each song seems to have several distinct parts.
Production level ain’t great, a bit muddy - the 2013 Dave Grohl remastered edition entitled “BLOOD!” is much better. My copy is in terrible shape with no insert and appears to have been a radio station / promo copy. I love the back cover’s layout.
