Work dives in like a kick in the teeth with Parades - driving, dark and catchy hardcore played over a d-beat that seems to encapsulate the era, with plenty of Amebix influence, and the vocals sound a bit like Lemmy with a Quebecois accent. I feel like BDI might not necessarily be anyone’s favorite band, but they also are fully beloved by anyone who likes them. A punk’s punk band, maybe? They’re associated with the crust punk scene, and they’re at least crust adjacent - a sound with one in the 90s, and the other maybe a vanguard of the “epic crust” sound of the early 2000s.
Really good album through and through.
This is a tour copy is on pink with pasted on labels. Much of the record is re-recordings from a previous 7” that sounded like shit.
