Broken BonesF.O.A.D

By ’87, Broken Bones had slowed down a bit, and this mini-album is comprised of less driving, less aggressive songs. It does not help that this record is on paper-thin, bowed vinyl, which doesn’t sound great - thanks Combat Core. Production is a bit weak, tinny and trebly to my ear. The low end gets does not come through in the same way as Dem Bones, and the guitar tone is a bit AC/DC esque at times.

The last part that annoys me is that this is another fake LP - side B is all live stuff, making this another BB record with only a few new tracks on it on Side A. Doing a quick bit of math, I have 4 Broken Bones 12” records, with a total of 55 tracks, but only 37 unique songs. Oh well - I don’t know the story behind that but my guess is record label fuckery as usual.

FOAD is okay, but doesn’t stand up to earlier work by the band. I haven’t bothered to listening to much beyond this era from Broken Bones.
