Bruce SpringsteenBorn To Run

Considered a breakout album, this record is less blue collar arena rock, but still has that “heartland sound” - it’s a thick record with layers of sound, a very 70’s album production by Johnny Iovine. The standout exception to that rule is 10th Avenue Freeze Out which sounds like a straight up soul song. It’d be kinda cool if the entire record was like that song; the rest of the album just sounds like Springsteen and the E-Street band should.

Born To Run is a classic song; a different kind of anthem than Born In The USA. it practically implores you to drive with the windows down, on a warm summer evening. Driving around aimlessly and getting into trouble: an American teenage rite of passage. A nice invocation of warmer times as February drags on.
