OK, this one was a surprise top contender for 2026 record of the year for me. In a bleak world surrounded by bleak music, this felt like a fun breath of fresh air - energetic, catchy, angry, passionate, fast, melodic, hook-filled goodness from our neighbors up north. There's even a whistling part in my favorite song ("Counting Cockroaches In My Neighborhood"). The guitars are a bit reverby / jangly; and there's some echo on the raspy vocals, which isn't short of rolling R's; some "Heys!" from background vocalists.
Artwork is even fun - a bright pink cover with punky little cartoon characters, and a retro-style lyric sheet in a halftone print. Lyric sheet in English and Spanish.
Great record, hope to see them when coming to the US isn't such a shit show.
