Portland has no shortage of bands who play this style of music, and maybe Deathcharge is the best of the breed, but Broken Spirit’s first and only release is good shit. Dark anarcho/peace punk for the dark new millennium, with a some heavy parts and tough vocals. I remember hearing the first track, then going to the record store to buy when it was released, and the guy in the store was playing the record. He knew, and I knew, that this record was good. I think I went to see them at the record release show, and then I haven’t heard of, or seen the band since.
