Crustified death metal or metallic crust punk? I think it’s more of the former but it’s splitting hairs, though this one being a bit more on the crustier side than later releases. I dig it over their other albums probably for that reason. Aporia is punchy and at times brutally heavy with blistering solos and at least one china crash in each song. Darker Side Of Dawn’s introduction is a cover of Amebix Darkest Hour intro, which is the through-line to the crust influence, but it turns into a much chuggier dirge. Also note that this band’s name starts with an A, and ends with an X, which approaches Japanese-level of worship (read: Acrostix) - except most of the record doesn’t really sound like Amebix, except for maybe elements of Only the Dying.
When this came out it was in my heavy rotation but it’s been a good few years since I’ve listened to this. A good record.
