Take a bit of early-era Agnostic Front and Suicidal Tendencies, plus some UK82 punk, and put them in The Bay with the other peace punks and you get this band. Other bands had fully embraced the crossover / metal sound by this year, but Christ on Parade keeps it hardcore punk over some driving d-beat. Really great album from a band I really don’t know anything about but was pleasantly surprised to hear this one.
This is technically Christ on Parade’s 1985 LP “Sounds of Nature” on Side A, plus unreleased / comp tracks on Side B, re-released by Prank Records in 2007. My copy is on mint green + black and makes me crave some Thin Mints; after all it is Girl Scout cookie season and they tempt me from the entry way of every grocery store around.
