By their third record, the Twins were fully ethereal and dreamy, long gone are the gothic and stripped down beats of the debut. Instead of dark and creepy, it’s mostly just…somewhat a beautiful album. The lyrics are mostly intelligible and opaque - as expected - but the vocals are unreal and a bit hard to describe - ranging from standard singing, to coyote-like yips and yaps, to full-on “artistic wailing”. My favorite song is maybe the darkest on the record, and the dual-tracked vocals build and build. The song appears to wrap-up about half way through, but goes through another cycle of vocal trade offs. Great song.
