BelgradoObraz

Still on the post-punk train with Belgrado - the Spanish band whose lyrics are mostly in Polish but sometimes Spanish or English. They really stripped down their sound from 2013’s Siglo XXI to Obraz. While there’s more atmospheric, reverb-y guitar noise, it also has simpler song construction, and a bit more repetitive than the previous record, in a not unpleasant way - maybe a bit more entrancing. In a way, stripping the songs down to their basic parts - I mean, as basic as you can be with a pedal board as wide as the stage - shows at least a bit of confidence and at most hubris, but I don’t really get “hubris” from Belgrado. I actually do like their previous record a bit more, but I don’t dislike this one, and in fact, I think I respect this one more, if that makes sense. It’s good shit, if you’re into it.
