The Bellicose MindsThe Creature

This is a short 8-song LP, on which The Bellicose Minds are super tight and the instrumentation is on point. It has the same gloomy post-punk / goth sound, only more-so; they continue to bring an energy to each song that will get your toe tappin’; the better production quality helps a lot. The rhythm section is everything on this record, and the simple guitar riffs / atmospheric echos compliment them well. The bassist on this record is Mira from PDX punk stalwarts Lebenden Toten and Ripper; she joined the band in 2012, and carries the weight of most of the songs here. I like this record more than the demo tracks previously reviewed. The title track is actually the weakest song on the album - and it’s not a bad song, but I like the rest of ‘em more.
