Saw a lot of posts from people who recently saw The Cure on their 2023 US tour, so I guess this is as close as I’ll get. This captures early transitioning to mid-era Cure with their first live record. Since this isn’t a punk band it actually sounds okay - the vocals are front and center though, so you can’t get much of the music on some of the tracks. Many of the songs are from the early gothic era that I am a fan of (I think their best album is Seventeen Seconds), though there are some of their contemporaneous songs that demonstrate the shift to a more popular sound, though the best tracks are the dark, gothy ones, like Charlotte Sometimes and of course, A Forest.
