Air (you know, the FRENCH BAND, as indicated on the front album) would come onto my radar when they appeared on the Lost in Translation soundtrack, but apparently this album was an international hit (I sure missed that notice, but I was also in 10th grade at the time and my playlist consisted of Earth Crisis, Integrity, and Wu-Tang & affiliates). It’s a low-key, nice background music album - something to read by, or perhaps shop at a hip clothing store or something. Some of the vibes are pretty 70s, and the vocoder-style vocals get old after a while, but it’s a good album to put on when you want to have a cocktail and discuss art with your fancy friends.
