Happy 40th birthday to this classic Oi staple that never actually gets old - simple, catchy, melodic, and dripping with cockney accents, everyone loves this record and the entire album is like one big sing along with pints raised high.
My Cock Sparrer story is seeing them play the song Riot Squad (at Riot Fest in Chicago, no less), and as the siren-tone of the guitar played, a bunch of Chicago PD ran in to break up a fight in the pit. Good times.
This copy is “limited” in the sense that there are only 500 out there with this color combination, but there are literally dozens of variants / pressings of this album and so it I’m sure it can be had for next to nothing. It’s one of the more annoying things about the record collecting “hobby” of late - manufactured scarcity that isn’t actually that scarce, and part of the reason I stopped trying to collect all the variants of particular loved records. The vinyl looks cool at least.
