Holy Diver

The price tag on the front of this LP says I spent 2.99 on it, which is a bargain for a great heavy metal record with no less than 3 stone cold classics on it by one of the genre’s most enigmatic and powerful vocalists, despite his diminutive stature. Unbeatable record with some pretty awesome artwork. The cheesiness of the lyrics and keyboards may feed into the heavy metal tropes and parody in later years, but here it sounds and seem sincere in a somewhat endearing way - and you can’t not bang your head to Holy Diver. It’s both heavy and accessible at the same time, and truly a great album. This record was released fresh off of Dio’s departure from Black Sabbath.
