Here’s a totally dumb release idea, a split LP! A hardcore fan’s first response to a split LP should be, “it ain’t Faith / Void, then I don’t want it!” Well, at least on this one, the cover art is cool - continuing a tradition from the last Split LP I reviewed, the Death Side / Chaos UK split - and it captures both bands in their stride.
The Totalitär side is intense and raging, with raspy and desperate vocals and amongst my favorite material from the band - their earlier stuff doesn’t do it for me as much. The Disclose side is essentially their Total Dis-Lickers demo from 1998, with the addition of “Endless War”. It paces slower than the first side, and heavier due to lower tuning - but I like this era of Disclose a lot as a result - War Is Insanity is a great way to close this one out. Overall, great collection of Discharge-influenced punk rock from nearly opposite sides of the globe.
