Filing this under one of the worst band names ever, Disturd. My hope is that the band’s name was maybe a translation issue and they were going for Disturb?? Thankfully the band is a lot better than the name. DIS-spite the dis prefix, this is more of a Sacralige / Antisect crusty vibe than a raw d-beat punk band: down-tuned crust from Japan, not unlike fellow countrymen AGE, Acrostix, or Effigy. Maybe that’s why they went with the “turd” moniker because this shit is filthy. In any case, it’s heavy metallic crust and really great.
The AI side is less heavy and more straight up hardcore punk; they seem to be departing more from their Motörpunk roots from the compilation I reviewed earlier. It’s just not doing it for me. All in all, I wish this was six songs of Disturd.
