終焉の扉 / The Door Of The End

Back with a new logo, new home base of Tokyo, new band members and a new sound, Crow roars back with a much heavier, crustier sound with heavy low end: this is the era of Crow that I first heard, and was instantly hooked.

This one only has 3 songs. First is the title track, “The Door Of The End” - which starts with a mid-paced dark introduction that immediately sets tone for this new iteration of Crow. Once the verse kicks in with its driving d-beat with plenty of tom drum fills you’re pumping your fist. It closes out with wild soloing. Second is My Last Dream, a fairly straight forward crust punk number in the same vein. Closing out the EP on side AA is Scapegoat, which is a slower plod with some clean interludes between the chugging verse…before it closes out with a d-beat driven section with more ripping leads before it devolves at the end to overdubbed cries of “Scapegoat” and over. This record is 10 minute behemoth that just leaves you wanting more.

Artwork is excellent, featuring Crow’s signature hand lettering and artwork. Limited to 600 numbered copies on purple vinyl, mine is #46 with a xeroxed English lyric insert.
