Crow’s first release! From when they were an Osaka-based Discharge-influence band. As far this release goes, it is a mere whisper of what was to come, and in my opinion, an instance where the earlier stuff is not better. The record’s four songs are fairly straight forward, even primitive, d-beat worship, capturing neither the tightness (as the band became more refined;) nor the weirdness (as various members got influenced by something other than Discharge), nor the grinding heaviness of Tokyo-era Crow. That said, there are a few twists here, like the strange introduction to the first song “Crow”, and the gang vocals on Who Killed Dove.
My personal preference for the 80’s era of Crow is the comp tracks from Eye of the Thrash Guerrilla - a record I don’t own. In fact, I’m a bit bummed those comp tracks weren’t released on their own Crow EP. Regardless, this review is for this release which does exist, not that one, which doesn’t.
Two recent Prank records repress. Original is very scarce.
